The Ursine Giant Skipper (Megathymus ursus ursus) is dark brown with an orange band and white spots and can have a wingspan of up to 10 cm (4 in). It occurs in Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. Host plants are yuccas (Yucca spp.); females lay eggs on leaf tips, and larvae crawl down and bore into the yucca's root.
