The Pinos Altos Mountiansnail (Oreohelix confragosa) is a small (1.5-2.5 cm [0.6-1 in]) land snail that is native to the mountainous regions of the western US and Grant County in New Mexico. This species can be identified from its shell, which is light brown to tan, with a rounded and coiled shape with a rough, textured surface. It inhabits forested areas, canyons, and rocky slopes in moist environments where it can remain shaded.
