The Southwestern Slender Bee Fly (Thevenetimyia speciosa) is a very rare, white and yellow bee fly with darkened wings that occurs in Arizona and the Gila National Forest in New Mexico. The larva is parasitic on wood-boring beetles, and the adult is a pollinator of many wild nectar plants, including fleabane (Erigeron spp.), buckthorn (Rhamnus spp.), and ceanothus (Ceanothus spp.).
