| Scientific Name | Bombus cockerelli |
| Category | I |
| Taxon | Bees |
The Cockerell’s Bumble Bee (Bombus cockerelli) is thought to be endemic to high elevations of the Sierra Blanca and Sacramento Mountains in southern New Mexico. This makes it the most range-restricted bumble bee (Bombus spp.) globally. This species has been collected very few times and research on its phenology, distribution, life history, and threats is needed. Females have been observed on thistles, so this species is likely a pollinator of the federally Threatened Sacramento Mountains Thistle (Cirsium vinaceum).
