The Andrenid Bee (Macrotera magniceps) is a ground-nesting bee in the family Andrenidae. Many species in this genus are specialists, often visiting only plants in the cactus or mallow families (Cactaceae and Malvaceae, respectively). Little is known about this species, though it is mostly recorded from the Chihuahuan Desert in New Mexico and in Chihuahua, Mexico. The main threat is likely the increased incidence and severity of drought due to climate change.
